BEATEN BY BANKS. A cricket match on Saturday at tha Sportsground was not without it* amusing side. Law met Banks in their annual match. Law went i* first, padded and gloved; Jacobs knocked up a careful o<3, Hewlett produced a useful 15, and Anderson 27. The rest added a few each, except two (wno shall be nameless), who made "ducks" ; the total score being 116. Then came the comia piece. Banks went in and knocked up the requisite number for the los* of one wicket. Pegden made 46 aid Perrin was never bowled, adding 51 runs. The remainder were easily notched by Addison. It was a very simple victory.
