Witte, in his interviow, said that Russia was very grateful for Germany's kindly attitude over the war, therefore the Russo Gorman rapproachmenis was natural, especially as the attitude of a portion of the French public during the war had impressed Russia disagreeably. Nevertheless the Franco- Russian Aliiahcea was unaffected, though RussoGerman sympathies were strengthened,
