WEDDING.

A wedding which attracted the interest of many friends look place yesterday afternoon, when Miss Ellen Elizabeth Neville, eldest daughter of Mr S. M. Nev;lle, of Thurston, was united in hymeneal bonds to Mr G. H. Gilchrist, of Palmerston North. The marriage was solemnised in the Church, of ths Nativity, the Y ren. Archdeacon Grace being the officiating Minister and the ceremony Tas witnessed by a considerable gathering of people, the church being well filled. The bride, who was led to the altar by her father, TTiis attired in cream duchess satin, trimmed with emlnoidered chiffon, and to the usual veil, were attached beautiful orange blossoms -which were the Dafural production. She carried a boqu?t composed of white sweet-peas and ly.?opodJum, and had as the bridegroom's present a handsome gold watch. The bridesmaids were Misses Amy and Amuri Neville, the bride's sisters, who were dressed in while silk, trimmed with chiffon, and wore pietuie hats to match. The bouquets carried by these young ladies were composed of pink geraniums, sweetpeas and Ijcopodium. and the gifts of the bridegroom were diamond and ruby brooches. Mr H. Moss, of "Wairarapa, was the brst-mau. After the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to Thurston, where a large number of guests enjoyed the hospitality of Mr and Mrs Neville. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr C J. Griffiths, who in the course of a happy speech referred to the bride's success as q, member of the Wairau Hospital nursing staff. Mr Gilehrist haviug responded, Mr C. Purkiss, proposed tbe health of Mr and Mrs Neville, the latter acknowledging the toast. The health of the bridesmaids was proposed by Mr Claude Mills, Mr Moss responding ; and Mr W. E. Clouston extended the same courtesy to Archdeacon Grace. A handsome and valuable collection of presents betokened the good wishes of many friends. The bride's going-away dress was a navy blue coat and skirt with hat to match..
