Wellington, August 27. The Mauawatu Bailway Company has agreed to delay the afternoon train on Saturday till 5.40 p.m., arriving in Palmerston at 11 p.m. This wid enable visitors to see the match New Zealand v. New South Wales, and return the same night.
Dunedin, August 27. The gross takings at Saturday's football match amounted to £269. Of this the New Zealand Union gets £160 net. '
At Melbourne, recently, a footballer named Wrench was fined £5 with £3 7s 6d costs, in default 14 days' imprisonment, for an assault upon another footballer at the conclusion of a match.
At Oamaru, a couple of weeks ago, T. Turner had to answer a charge of assault on another footballer during the progress of a game. The Magistrate fined accused 10s, with £1 Is costs, and directed him to send a letter of apology to the complainant.
Christchurch College beat Wellington College yesterday by 19 points lo 3.
