At the annual meeting of members of the Wair»w»t^2ricing Club held on Thursday, it was" decided that the secretary be instructed to write to tho Premier pointing out that accident insurance offices refused to insure trainers and jockeys on race days against loss under the Workmen's Compensaiion Act,, and requesting him to have tho Act altered so as tc exclude racing clubs from its provisions. It wa9 also decided that other clubs be written to asking them to suppoct the proposal.
A special general meeting of the Otaki Racing Club was held at the Jubilee Hutel on Saturday evening, when Mr Henry was appointed club handicapper.
