SIX PEOPLE INJURED
STRUCK BY MOTOR-TRUCK. (Press Assn.) GISBORNE, Alay 7. Struck by a truck while they were walking on the main south road near Matawh ero Hill, six people were injured, five being admitted to hospital. They were: — Audrey Durston, aged 18, Matawhero, severe head injuries; Marie Grayson, aged 14, Alatawhero, severe head injuries; Lucy Moore, aged 15, Bushmere, injuries to body and head; Kenneth Goodall, aged 23, Bushmere, injuries to back and legs; James Goodall, aged 53, Bushmere, injuries to legs ; Airs Ada Mavis Goodall, aged 43, Bushmere, abrasions and cuts. A party of seven were walking along the main road to the Alakaraka-Alata-whero Hall. The accident occurred about 250 yards from tlie hall when a heavy motor-truck driven by George Phillip Whyte overtook them. Mr Iv. Goodall only recently returned from overseas service with the army. Since his return lie has been undergoing treatment at Rotorua Hospital because of severe wounds, received, and was discharged only last week.
