BUILDING SOCIETY
A general meeting of shareholders of the Manawatu Co-op. Building Society was held on Wednesday, when Mr G. B. Cope presided. Appropriations amounting to £4OOO were proceeded with and the following are the results: No. 6 Group, £SCO, 11. F. Reid (Patea); £2OO, B. J. Trott (Aramoho); No. 7 Group, £SOO, F. R. A. Kershaw (Waikunae) ; No. 8 Group (sale), £BOO at £34 per £IOO, £SOO at £3l per £100; No. 9 Group (sale), £2OO at £35 per £IOO, £6OO at £3l per £IOO, £2OO at £3l per £IOO. The chairman stated that the new group. No. 10, was being formed and within a week 200 shares had been applied for. The group would close when 1000 shares were reached. It was a source of satisfaction to report that many shareholders joining Groups Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 finished up with a freehold worth anything up to £I4OO and in addition dividends out of profits amounting to £6 per share. They alto received theii I share money in cash; in many cases amounting to £195.
