BOROVANSKY BALLET

The great interest which is being taken in the farewell appearance at the Opera House on Monday night next of the Borovansky Ballet was manifested yesterday at Collinson and Cunningliame’s when there was a record demand for scats, proving that the J. C. Williamson management was wise in giving playgoers of Palmerston North a further opportunity of enjoying this splendid organisation of famous dancers in three of their best and most successful productions, “Giselle” and “Le Spectre de la Rose” which were not included in the programme of ballets when t!ie company appeared here in December last, and “Vltava” (being presented by special request). “Giselle” is regarded as as lovelv a thing as the ballet has yet done. Its legendary _ allure springs from no less tender a genius than the French poet Gautier, and its beauty never fails to captivate its audiences. Mr Borovansky is brilliantly served by his company in his presentation of “Giselle,” and he himself shows the real meaning of mime as the iealous Hilarion. Others who shine in this lovelv ballet are Sergo Bousloff, Corrio Lodders, Phyllis Kennedy, and the charming ballerina Dorothy Steienson, who is brilliant as Giselle. Great interest is being taken in the appearance here of Tamara Tehinarova, who dances a promi-. nent part in “Giselle,” the brilliant young Rumanian ballerina.
