GOOD WAR EFFORT VESSEL TAKES 30 DAYS LONDON, Sept. 25. British shipbuilding yards are maintaining their Avar effort and a 10,000-ton cargo vessel now take*
30 days to build. Compared with the record announced by Mr H. J. Kaiser of the launching of a 10,000-ton Liberty cargo ship ill 10 days, the time taken by the British shipyards appears to be sloav, but it lias to be remembered that Avhile the Avorkers in the United States yards wore able to Avork 24 hours a day, in Britain the day was limited to 10 hours as night Avork AVould invito enemy bombing. According to the Official Wireless 466 merchant ships have been put into service by tile United States since tho first liberty ship Avas launched on September 17, 1941, states a Washington message. The scheduled delivery of 22 more ships in the last three days of this month Avill make the September total 92, Avhicli is tlio highest monthly rate in the programme. Eight million tons is tlio goal set for 1942.
