PRICES OF MEAT.

AUCKLAND, Aug. ~■ Widespread dissatisfaction is reported to exist among butchers concerning the Price Tribunal s order fixing the maximum retail prices ot meat throughout the Dominion, and it is learned that the New* Zealand Master Butchers’ Federation has called a conference to lie held in Wellington on Monday next. Although provision was made” in tho. order for seasonal increases and decreases altove and below Hie basic rates, it is felt that the existing prices are especially onerous at tliis time of the year, when stock prices are rising owing to a winter shortage, ft is expected that representations will lie made alter the conference to the Price Tribunal, urging a modification of tlio order.
