I Residents of the district gathered recently to honour Miss Thelma Old and Mr , Green, who have since been married. Following the serving of supper, Mr K. Christian asked Miss Old and Mr Green to accept numerous gifts, and on behalf of all present, extended every good wish for their .future. Miss Old, who wore blue taffeta, opened the many parcels assisted by her bridesmaids. Misses Ngnirc Old. who wore old gold lace, and Jean Rosscr, black georgette. Mr Green thanked ali for their good wishes and gifts. Mr Keith Hay ward was M.C. and the music was supplied by Miss M. McLennan and Messrs- R. Grantham and J. Williams. Miss Old was also the guest of honour at a party tendered to her at Mr and Mrs L. Nitscliko's homo by Miss Joyce Nilschke and Mrs 1,. Jcfferios. The afternoon was spent, in playing games, competitions and community singing. Competition winners were Misses Thelma, Old and June Wilson. Miss J. Nitschko asked Miss Old to accept the gifts from her many friends present, 'and wished her every happiness. Miss Old. who worn ai navy blue sheer frock, thanked all present for their kindness.
Mr and Mrs W. B. Short and Mr W. Harvey, representing the Stan way Sewing Guild and the Farewell Social Committee, recently visited the home of liCading-Air-craftsman \V. Shannon while ho was on leave and made a presentation of a leather hold-all. Mr Harvey asked Lcading-Air-eraftsm&n Shannon to accept the gift along with the best wishes of the residents of the Stanwav district. Misses D. and R. Mexted. of North Auckland, have been the guests of their aunt, Mrs F. Craino. "Monavale." The friends of Mr and Mrs J. Parsons will be pleased to learn that they are . both making satisfactory progress after their illness. Miss Olere and Mr and Mrs Harvey are on holiday at Wellington. Miss '", Miles, of Wellington, has been staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs U. Miles. Pleasants Road. Private T. Miles has returned to Trontham after spending a tew days with his parents. Mrs D, G. Mingins. of Blenheim, is staving at the home of hei: parents. Mr and Mrs J. W. Parsons, during their illness. Sergeant I. 11. Old. of Trontham, is spending leave with his parents, Mr and Mrs J. Old.
