| FULLER NEWS SOON. (Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, June L'. Hon. YV. Nash announced to-day that for the time being the news concerning the evacuation from Crete would be confined to the terms of the communique issued bv the British Government. He hoped, however, to make a statement upon receipt of further information from Mr Eraser, who had had long discussions with Major-General Freyberg and other members of the New Zealand Force who had been successfully evacuated. MOKE NEWS EXPECTED. (Special.) WELLINGTON. June 2. Further news was later received by Mr Nash regarding the evacuation of Crete, but he expects to obtain a cabled report from the Prime Minister by to-night. Questioned regarding the German report that Major-General Freyberg had been killed, Mr Nash replied: "There is no question about General Freybcrg's safety. Mr Eraser has had conversations w.th him and other New Zealand officers."
