FIRE IN HOSPITAL.
(Press Assn.) YVANGANUI. June 2. A fire in the Raetihi Hospital on Saturday night made necessary the temporary transfer of patients to the nurses' home. The fire, which started in a corridor in'the middle of the main building, burnt through the ceiling of the ground floor into the maids' quarters and through the roof. LOSS AT AUCKLAND. (Press Assn.) AUCKLAND. June 2. Damage estimated at not less than ,€•'30.000 was caused by a fire which started in the grocery section on the top floor of premises occupied by J. Jones. Ltd., grain and produce auctioneers. Grass seed, wheat, pollard, ■and all types of produce were destroyed by fire and water. Water seepage to the bottom floor also caused destruction to hardware and groceries.
