SECRET WEAPONS.

‘•BRAINS TRUST” APPOINTED. LONDON, May 2. The appointment ot what will probably be known as the “seciet weapons brains trust” is announced by the Government. Its tourfold job will l>e, firstly, to consider the best use to be made of engineers throughout the country; secondly, to suggest the better use of engineering science; thirdly, to examine new -devices and ideas; and, fourthly, to advise the Government on the speedier use of new machines. The appointment marks the first attempt to discard red tape which resulted from the pigeonholing of scores of inventions. The body will be known as the Engineering Advisory Committee. It comprises eminent engineers and Government research workers. Lord Hanker, Chancellor of the Duchy oi Lancaster, will he the chairman.
