MRS E. M. lIARROD’S CANDIDATURE Mrs E. M. Ilarrod, a Labour candidate for the City Council and Hospital Board, has for many years been an active worker in different organisations for the betterment of civic conditions. Mrs Ilarrod has been connected since its inception, with the Manawatu Co-operative Society, and in addition to being a member of the management committee is a foundation member and past president of the Co-op-erative Women’s Guild. For many years she has been connected with the Te Awe Awe Scout Committee, and was for some time president of the Hokowhitu School women’s committee, while as a member of tiic local Patriotic Committee, and of the I-ady Galway Guild, she is closely associated with patriotic activities in the city. Mrs Ilarrod’s experience and commonsense, and her woman's outlook on many of our local body problems, should prove an asset both on the City Council and on the Hospital Board,
