NEW ZEALAND BAN
INTEREST IN AUSTRALIA
(Rcc. 12.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct 26. The Federal Government will obtain from the New Zealand Government _ a statement of its reasons for the banning of Jehovah's Witnesses and will reconsider the position of the sect in Australia. The Attornev-Gcneral (Mr W. M. Hughes) said: "I have noted New Zealand's action and will raise the matter witn Cabinet at the first opportunity. 1 do not know what the position in New Zealand is, but under our Constitution everybody is guaranteed, by fundamental laws, freedom of religious belief."
