SCANDAL RESISTS CHALLENGE. Scandal scored an end to end victory in the Doric Hack Handicap. He had to meet a challenge from the favourite, Lueullus Boy, but withstood this to win by half a length. Scandal started well from No. 1 barrier 'position and led on the rails, with Lueullus' Boy and Beau Coureur on _ the outside. Kentucky, Harina and Waimutu were next. This order was maintained until the straight was reached and Scandal went on to win from Lucullus Boys and Kentucky was third, ahead of Harina.
