ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
There was a good attendance at a lecture given last evening fb members of St. John Ambulance service by Dr. W. M. Maclaurin. The service is making good progress here. St. John’s Croquet Club.
After 20 years’ activity, St, John’s Croquet Club has been wound up owing to a falling off in membership. This decision was arrived at when a meeting was held recently to discuss the position. It was stated that the cause of the reduced membership lay in the fact that the club did not have a full-sized green. It was decided to donate the club’s property to St. John’s Church Vestry, and a motion of thanks to Mrs Golding for her lengthy interest in the club was passed.
Harriers. The Marton and Palmerston North Y.M.C.A. harriers will pay a return visit to the Feilding Club on Saturday, when there will bo a 4A miles across country race starting at Victoria Park at 2.30 p.m. Rugby Football. Feilding Old Boys to play Ifalcombc at 1.30 p.m. at Johnston Park on Saturday are:—Ewen, O’Donnell, Bramwcll, Squires, Meccham, Silcock, Morris, 11. Fowlds, Sporlo, Chcetham, Ilills, Vincent, Bcazcr, Bramwcll, Bcazer, Beard, Thompson.
Hockey, The draw for the Feilding Hockey Association’s end of season tourney on Saturday is as follows: —Kia Ora A, Marton, Huia, Kia Ora B, Wanderers B, Wanderers A. Marton v. Kia Ona B, 2 p.m. ; Kia Ora A v. Wanderers B, 2.15 p.m.: Marton v. Wanderers A, 2.30 p.m.; Huia v. Wanderers B, 2.45 p.m.; Kia Ora B v. Wanderers A, 3 p.m.; Huia v. Kia Ora A, 3.15 p.m. Basketball.
The following, will represent Feilding at, the representative basketball tournament in Palmerston North on Saturday :—Misses I). Burgess, J. Sinuns, N. Heap, J. Grindrod, B. Russell, B. Rosonoski, J. Saunders, N. Williamson, D. Amyes; emergencies, Misses S; Bcarpoint and H. Carter. No competition games will bo played on Saturday in Feilding. The following will represent Feilding in the basketball matches to be played against Bush at Pahiatua on Monday night. A team: Misses D. Burgess, J. Simms, N. Heap, G. Grindrod, M. Russell, J. Saunders, B. Rosonoski, O. Amyes, N. Williamson. The B team will bo chosen from Misses S. Pearpoint, J. Nott.le, A; Amyes, A. Raynor. E. Raynor, D. Carter, G. Edhouse, J. Trcvcna, M. Davenport. P. Saunders, P. 01 liver. The bus leaves the Post Office at 6.30 p.m. Labour Party Dance.
A Labour Party cards and dance gathering will be Held in the Parish Hall tonight. The- proceeds are -in aid of the Navy League. Those who attend are assured of good entertainment. The prices arc 2s and 2s 6d.
