A RECIPE.
HAM AND VEGETABLE MOULD. Line a round cake-tin with slices of cooked carrot. Put cooked carrots through a mincer and measure 1 cup. Cook 21b peas until tender and rub through a sieve. Mix together with pepper, salt, and a little ground mace or nutmeg. Shred jib lean ham, add to vegetable mixture with 1 tablespoon cream and 4 slightly-beatcri‘ eggs. Fill prepared mould carefully, place mould in pan. of water and cook in oven until set. Turn out and serve with a well-flavoured tomato sauce.
The corrugated cardboard used for wrapping around bottles is handy when re-stringing heads, as the beads can be laid in the corrugations and will not roll about as is usual when placed on a flat surface.' It is therefore possible to first arrange them in the order in which they are to be threaded.
