DANCE AT TOKOMARU.
A patriotic dance held at Tokomaru, last night, under the auspices of the Railway Goodwill Club and organised by Mr R. Nicholson, proved a great success. There was a good attendance, visitors being present from surrounding districts. Winners of dances were: Monte Carlo, Miss G. Guy and Mr M. Hansen; lucky Gay Gordons, Miss P. Corlett and Mr B. Harper. Euchre tournament winners were: Mrs Gyde and Mr Tavlor. Mr Nicholson, on behalf of the club, handed to Mr A. Moody (secretary of the Tokomaru Patriotic Society) the proceeds of the dance, amounting to £3 9h, and also thanked all those who assisted in various duties. He also acknowledged with thanks donations from the following: Mrs Wilton (milk), Mrs Gyde (sugar), and Mr Taylor (7s 6d, the value of the euchre prize). Mr Bond proved a very efficient M.O. and kept the dance moving with a swing throughout.
