SMALLER WOOL CLIP.

DECREASE OF 100,000 BALES. A decronse of about 100,000 bales in the production of greasy wool in New Zonland this year is expected, according lo Mr 11. M. Christie, chairman of tho New Zealand Wool Council. Mr Christie said in an interview at Christchurch that tho decline was general throughout Now Zealand, hut that it had fallen most heavily on those South Island districts where losses from the severe winter were most felt. The total production of groasy wool in New Zealand last wool season was 803.831, holes, and the total production of slipcs was 117,290, a production altogether of 921.121 bales. At the Dominion average of approximately £l7 a bale, the lmver production will mean a reduction of ±,1,500 000 on what would have been received had production been normal. The decrease will be about 12 per cent on last year.
