OVERSEAS BAN CONTINUES. DOMINION ISSUES FIRM. Tho suspension of transactions in and quotations of shares of companies domiciled overseas, as the result of the Finance Emergency Regulations, remains the dominant factor of the investment market. Representations have been made for some relaxation, and these are under consideration by the authorities. The position has been clarified to the extent that consent has been granted for the completion of transactions entered into prior to April 11, tho principle condition being an undertaking that the new script will be returned to New Zealand. As a result of the ban on dealings in overseas shares and stocks, there has been a sharp firming in the prices of New Zealand securities, which are the only avenue open to Dominion investment funds. Government loans have been strongly favoured, and prices have advanced to high levels, with a corresponding reduction in yields to 3$ per cent, and less. Supplies are hard to locate, and dealings have been restricted; but several large parcels were sold in "Wellington. Bank of New Zealand shares have been well supported, sales being made at up tn 445. Buvors were in yesterday at 43s £Jcl, and 28s fid w'ns offered for the D mortgage issue. Insurance and leading New Zealand industrial issues have showm a strong front, and general gains have been made. . YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
