STORM DAMAGE.
LOSSES AT DUNEDIN. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 29. Tt was announced this morning that the railway lines north and south are both open. The damage done to city verandahs bv the snow is estimated at thousands of pounds, while ihe Iron and Steel Gov.’s collapsed roof involves £2OOO. Three nuisterere trapped in the hills behind Roxburgh for three days with little food got out yesterday through drifts sometimes 50ft deep. They met a rescue party half-way. Heavy rain is now falling and should cause a rapid thaw.
