TROUBLES IN SPAIN. ECONOMIC SITUATION. HEN DA YE, July 23. General Franco’s Ministers met in conference at Burgos to-day, on not only the troubles leading to the downfall of four war-time Franco leaders, but also the economic situation in which lies the cause of political tension.
It is believed there arc 1.250.000 .unemployed throughout Spain. Senor Suncr (.Minister of the Interior) is urging General Franco that only a full Fascist policy can deal with the discontent.
The army authorities are now openly opposed to collaboration with the Axis Powers, to which the Minister of the Interior (Senor Sunor) is favourable. They would prefer neutrality and the friendship of England and France.
