LONDON NEGOTIATIONS.

STATEMENT LIKELY FROM MR NASH. SUGGESTION OF COMPROMISE. f LONDON, July 18. Hon. W. Nash (New Zealand Finance Minister), in a statement says that he did not announce that the negotiations for finance in London were indefinitely . postponed. What lie said was that his statement concerning the negotiations had been postponed. The Financial News says the negotiations between Mr Nash and Mr Montagu Norman (Governor of the Bank of England) are progressing satisfactorily. It appears that both sides have compromised and the discussions are now reduced to a question of details.

It is understood that Mr Nash is likely to make his long-awaited statement on the discussions to-day.
