WOMAN M.P.
LESS COSTLY SEAT SOUGHT. .Received April 18, 1.20 p.m. LONDON, April 17. The Daily Herald’s political editor, announcing the decision of Mrs H. B. Tate, a Conservative member of the House of Commons, that she will not contest the Frome seat at the next election because she intends to find a less costly constituency, adds that she has apparently decided it will be impossible to resist the strong challenge from the Labour candidate, Mr R. W. G. Mackay, a former Sydney solicitor, who was only 994 votes behind her at the last election.
