BOWLING.
Four rinks of bowlers organised by Mr J. J. Young on behalf of the Woodville R.S A. Club visited Palmerston North to play a Brooker Shield match. The home rinks, skipped by Messrs C. Dixon, P. Childs, Crouc-hor and Gordon, secured a margin of eight points on the aggregate, scoring 88 to 80, although the rink wins were evenly distributed. The Woodville rinks were; McCullough, Bullot, Reynolds, Young (skip); Hurley, AH lie r, Smith, Boyd (skip); Williams, Sullivan, James, Skinner (skip); Russell, Hares, Galbraith, Gothard (skip).
