SECURITY SCHEME.

OPPOSITION OF B.M.A. STILL NOT MODIFIED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 28. “No arrangement has been made with the Government, which is fully aware that the members of the medical profession are practically all opposed to the scheme as it stands,” stated Dr. Newlands, in commenting on the official announcement that the Government’s discussions with the doctors had now reached the stage of dealing with details, indicating considerable modification of the previous opposition. Dr. Newlands emphasised that no working arrangement had been evolved yet, and only last week the B.M.A. national health committee had had been instructed to sign nothing without the executive’s consent.
