MOTOR-CYCLE TRIAL.
A. C. GOIIE’S SUCCESS. The Manawatu-Orion Motor-Cycle Club held a success.ul reliability trial at the week-end, the course being to Apiti by way of Kelvin Grove, Watershed Road, Zig-Zag Road and Apiti Ridge Road. At Apiti, lunch was partaken of, and the return route was taken through Coal Creek, Totara Reserve, Rauinni and Ashhurst. Some of the cyclists lost points on the run out, more especially those who misread the chart a.nd found themselves in Ashhurst and some miles off their course. Four vehicles participated in the light-car class, but. one of these, driven by M. Page, had to withdraw after a puncture at Kelvin Grove. Tin’s section was won by M Orr. Tn the motor-cycle class there were 20 competitors. The best per formance was returned by A. C. Gore, who covered the route with the loss of only sf> points. Although well behind the winner on points. J. Redshaw, H. Decke, M. West and S. Mclntyre also gave creditable performances. The day was brought to a conclusion with all the competitors partaking of afternoon tea.
The club secretary (Mr P. T. Robin son), assisted by other members, cap ably performed the official duties. Results :- —-
