FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
INDOOR BOWLS. The fourth annual meeting 61 the Palmerston North Friendly Societies' Indoor Bowling Association was held last week when there was an attendance of 22 members. Bro. A. Dawick presided. The chairman read the report and the secretary the statement ol receipts and expenditure. These disclosed the finances to be in a sound position, while the report indicated that the social side of the association’s activities had progressed. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted; — Patron, sfr J. A. Nash; president, Bro. A. F. Jackson ; vice-president, Bro. E. W. Drake; rommittee. Bros. Hansen, Cox, Brisk, Dawick and Purcell ; secretary-treasurer, Bro. A. J. Hunt; assistant-secretary. Miss G. Underwood; selectors, Bros. Purcell. Andrews and Drake; coach. Bro. Stewart; auditor, Bro. C. Edwards; trustees, Bros. C. Purcell and Peteran a.
The matter of the opening date was left for the new commit toe to decide. Bro. Hunt was granted an honorarium of £2 2s for his services.
Bro. A. Dawick expressed thanks for the assistance given him by the committee, selectors and secretary during his term nf office, and ealled on Bro. A. F. Jackson to take the chair. He congratulated Bro. Jackson on liis election.
