An event of widespread interest was held on Wednesday evening' in the Town Lall in the form of a grand dance to conclude the Jubilee celebrations. A large crowd was present. O'apablo M.C.’s were Messrs ff. VVoodruofe and if. Ounstall. f.xira daoco numbers were supplied by Mrs 0. Kerrigan. The stage, looked most attractive, largo picturesque baskets of red and white flowers being suspended from the ceiling, lending a iostive appearance. Old-time dances revived many memories. Gatton, of Stratford, who arc guests of Mr and Mrs W. R. Smith, of Ashhurst. Mrs N. Stockbridge, of Wellington, is the guest of her mother, Mrs W. S. Fairlcss, of Bunnythorpe Road. Mrs L. Say well, of Marton, was staying with her mother Mrs B. Middleton, of Poliangina Road. Mr and Mrs Marshall, of Lower lTut t, who have been visitors to Mrs A. P. Brown, of Pohangina Road, have returned home. Mrs F. Colson, of Tokoroa, is the guest of her sister, Mrs W. Tremewan, Bunnythorpe Road. Mrs Evans, of Taranaki, has been staying with her mother, Mrs Shaw, of Napier Road.
