EVENTFUL VOYAGE.

DEATH ON LINER. CALL AT PITCAIRN. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 20. An Englishman on a holiday, visit to New Zealand, Mr Josiah Freeman, aged 65, died aboard the Rangitiki, on September 22 on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal. He had suffered from abdominal trouble. Mr Freeman was buried fit dawn the following morning ■ in-- the presence 1 - of a few friends. The service was reqd by the commander, Captain Barnett. The vessel later called at Pitcairn Island and found that the rumour that typhoid was prevalent was false Owing to the rumour there had been no ships there for some time, and the islanders had suffered hardship in consequence. All are well now.
