JAPANESE FIRM FINED.

TRANSPORT BETWEEN U.S. PORTS Received August 24, 12.35 p.m. SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 23. Customs officials stated to-day that the Nippon-Yusen-Kaisha Company would be fined 200 dollars because it transported Madame Kirsten Flagstad, the opera star, between two American ports aboard the Tatsuta Maru, from Honolulu to San Francisco, which arrives on Thursday.

Madame Flagstad missed her connection with the Matsonia and since giving a concert here on Saturday was compelled to take the Tatsuta Maru.
