“UN-AMERICAN” ACTIVITIES
JAMES CAGNEY MENTIONED. Received August 24, 11.10 a.m. ; WASHINGTON, Aug., 23.. The name of the film star James Cagney was brought in at tile hearing of evidence on “un-American” activities to-day when Miss Margaret Kerr, representative of the Better American Federation, testified that he was one of the sponsors of the American Friends of Abraham Lincoln Brigade ■Rehabilitation Fund. She also said that Congressmen Magnuson and Coffee similarly were sponsors.
