Mrs Brown, of Palmerston North, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs Hazelhurst, of Motu.\aoho, Waikato. ' Miss D. O’Sullivan has returned to Palmerston North after a holiday spentin Auckland. Mrs W. H. Gaisford, of Dannevirke, and Miss R. Gillies, of Palmerston North, were visitors to Trentham on Saturday. < Miss E. G. Butler, an assistant teacher at the Te Awa School, has been granted leave by the Hawke’s Bay Education Bcxird to exchange with a Canadian teacher. Miss M. G. Powell, Mahora, has been granted special leave for the whole of the second term.
Miss Margaret Bondfield, the. former Minister of Labour, has retired from the post of chief woman officer of the National Union of General Municipal Workers after 42 years as union organiser in order to devote the greater part sf her time to political work, She is leaving next month on a lecturing tour of the United States.—British Official YVireless.
