Attracting much interest was the wedding of Mavis Elsie May, the only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. J. Treweek, to Maurice, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs R. Currin, • which was celebrated at the Baptist Church, Palmerston North, on Saturday. March 5. The church had been beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride under the direction of Miss N. Grover, and Rev. J. C. Macky performed the ceremony, with Mrs G. Thompson at the organ. During fhe signing of the register Miss Pauline McKain rendered “Love’s Coronation.”

Escorted by her father, the bride looked most attractive in a graceful gown of cream needierun lace over satin, cut on fitting linos and falling into a long train edged with cream satin rnlayes. The front of the bodifce was heart-shaped and caught up with a sprig of , orange blossom, and the high neckline was finished with a Medici collar, also edged with rnlayes. The sleeves were miffed from the shoulders, then tight fitting to the wrist, where they formed points to match the neckline. Her long tulle veil, which was appliqued in deep cream satin tiger lilies." formed a second train and was caught to the head with a coronet ol orange blossom. The attendant mauls were Miss Ethel Kinzett (Christchurch, cousbi of the bride). Miss Eunice Gibson (Nelson) and Miss Nora Crond (Palmerston North), who were froeked in pin-spot net over satin in pastel shades of lemon, green, and pink respectively. The bodices were long-waisted, with' skirts falling very full from the hips and edged with rows of rusking, as also were the dainty bolero-coats with high puff sleeves. They wore bandeaux of flowers and carried sheaf bouquets in tones to match their frocks.
