WEDDING.

RUTHERFURD— KENNEDY

A pretty wedding took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Napier, on Saturday’, January 29, when Joan, elder daughter of Mr and the late Airs J. Kennedy, of Bulls, was married to Erie, fourth son of Air and Airs 'J’. H. Butherfurd, of Alasterton. Rev. Father McKenna officiated at the ceremony.

The bride, who was given away’ by her brother, Mr Kenneth Kennedy, of Eltliam, wore a lovely’ gown of ivory satin beatite, fitting the figure to the knees and flaring gracefully to form a train, which was appiiqued with motifs of hand-made Irish lace. The bodice was finished with a deep heartshaped neckline and the sleeves were long and tight fitting. Her veil was arranged from a circlet of orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of pale pink gladioli. Airs Norman Rush, of Carterton, sister of the bride, attended at matron of honour, wearing a long slim-fitting frock of mist blue French crepe, relieved with pink, and a smart blue halo hat to tone. Her shower bouquet was of pastel pink carnations and maidenhair fern.

Mr Eric Kennedy', of Wellington, brother of the bride, was best man. Airs Butherfurd, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a model coat of navy suede crepe over a silk frock patterned in tiny’ all-over floral design, with smart navy hat of balui straw. She carried a bouquet of cream roses and qiom-pom dahlias, with accessories to tone.

Airs Bee. of Havelock North, aunt of the bride, was wearing an ensemble of navy silk cloche, and a model hat of navy pedalinc styaw, and she carried a bouquet in deep golden shades. t A reception was held at the Majestic tea-rooms, following which a delightful party was given by’ Mr and Airs B. Hastedt at t-lieii' home in Milton Road. The bride travelled in a floral frock of Eastern silk, over which was worn a full length coat of navy georgette. .Her smart hat anyl accessories were also of navy blue. The future home of Mr and Airs Ruthcrfurd will be in Hastings.
