FAREWELL PARTY.

MRS J. O. YOUNG. Mrs J. C. Young, who leaves Palmerston North shortly for a visit overseas, was the guest of honour at an enjoyable tea party given by Mrs • L. Seifert at lier residence in Victoria Avenue, yesterday afternoon. The guests, who were past and present committee members of Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club, were received by Mrs Sei fert, who wore a frock of navy cloque Mrs Young 'wore a French model suit of navy and white, with a navy hat. Afternoon tea was served in _ the drawing-room, which was charmingly decorated with belladonna lilies. At a suitable interval, Mrs J. F. Field (a past vice-president), on behalf of the committee members, asked Mrs Young to accept a bridge set in a leather case, typical of New Zealand, as a token of appreciation of the tower of strength she had been to the club. She expressed the hope of all that Mrs Young would enjoy a happy holiday, and said that they would look forward to the time when they could welcome her on her return to Palmerston North. ' Mrs Young thanked those present for the good wishes and the gift, which she greatly appreciated. Those present were: Mesdames J. F. Field, M. A. Eliott. E. Wimsett, C. G. Moore, A. E. Eketedt, J. Trevor, W. A. Jacques, IT. IT. Whitehead and L. Cooper. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames R. K. Billens, D. V. Stewart, A. R. McKogg, L. Speechley, L. J. Oliver, and A. G. Lawson.
