meeting of association.

Mrs Ivan Wilson (acting-commis-sioner) presided at the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Girl Guides’ Association, yesterday afternoon. Also present were Mesdames J. 11. Whyte, J. M. Roberts, E. Bennett. N. Ratcliffe, A. E. Bloomfield, A. D. Barkwith, C. Jensen, I. Brougham, Misses C. E. Warburton, M. Grant and Z. Morton (secretary). Tho secretary was instructed to forward tho sum of 17s 3d as a sha.re of the travelling expenses of delegates to a meeting of the provincial executive in Wellington. A letter was received from Mrs M. Tweed (provincial commissioner) stating that, as there had not been sufficient applications for a full week’s training at the forthcoming training week conducted by Miss Ivniglit (English diploma’d Guider) at Lower Hutt, it had been decided to have only the first week-end for training. Mrs Wilson reported that four Guiders (Misses I. Stewart, A. Cray, R. Jensen and L. Davis) wished to attend, and it was decided that each be granted 10s towards her expenses. Mrs Tiddy and Miss Helshy, who will attend the weekend for Brownie training, were voted the same a.mount.

Mrs Whyte reported that she had obtained a good supply of badges, and asked for a list of. service stars required. Miss Warburton stated that tho dinner organised by the Business and Professional Women’s Round Table Club for Miss Courtney, to which the association has been invited, had been cancelled. Members were invited instead to attend a discussion organised bv the League of Nations Union to be held the same evening. An intimation was given that a camp for commissioners would be held near Palmerston North later in the month.
