SERVICES APPRECIATED.
AIR AND AIRS J. C. YOUNG. On the occasion of their impending departure on an extended trip to the Old Country, Mr and Mrs J. C. Young were the guests of honour at a social function tendered bv tlie officebearers of St. Andrew’s Church, and their wives, last evening. Entertaining items were given by Aliss Joan Paton (solos), Airs G. Otway (character sketches) and Airs R. Donald (songs), while supper was served. Rev. John Hubbard said that the gathering had been arranged not to say farewell, blit to wish Air and Mrs Young a pleasant holiday. Fortunately they would be coming back to continue tlie splendid service they had rendered the Church. Mr Hubbard paid an eloquent tribute to that service, and as .a mark of appreciation presented Air Young with a fountain pen. Alessrs H. G. Ram, A. J. Graham and J. R. Gerrard also spoke, referring to the never-failing enthusiasm in church, work of Air and Airs A oung. Best wishes for an enjoyable trip were expressed to them. Mr Young briefly replied. Air and Afrs Young intend to be absent from the Dominion for about six months.
