NORTHERN CROQUET CLUB.
GALA DAY.
An enjoyable gala day was held yesterday at the Northern Croquet Club’s greens, when about thirty members took part in a variety of competitions. At the conclusion of the day’s play the winners were: Progressive, Mrs L. Wood, Miss Rc.ad, Mrs Permain; golf croquet, Mrs Colquhoun; French, Mrs Batchelor; angles, Mrs T. Simpson ; ’hurryscurry, Mesdames Duncalf and Murray; angles, Miss Rogers; French, Mrs Lovelock; lucky numbers, Mrs McDonald and Miss Rogers. The trophies for the latter were donated by Mesdames H. Brown and Wood. During a.n interval in play, afternoon tea was served at tables which had been decorated with summer blooms by Mesdames Lee and Tapxn A festive touch was added bv the dainty boxes of sweets provided for members. The president of tne club (Mrs Brown) presented the trophies to the successful players, and the Christmas party closed, with an. exchange of the season’s greetings.
