WRESTLING.

CHIEF LITTLE WOLF COMING. The wrestling match which is to take place at the Palmerston North Opera House next Thursday night is one of outstanding interest, as it will serve to introduce to the local public two newcomers to the order of the Dominion Wrestling Union. They ore Chief Little Wolf, who was responsible for ono of the big upsets of the season when ho made Earl Uc(_'ready submit to an Indian deathlock and incidentally held the Empire champion to a draw at Wellington; and Floyd Marshall, a big and powerful man from Arizona, whoso Now Zealand lour is just beginning. The match is one which, in the ordinary course of events, would be staged nt one of the main centres and which the local association was therefore fortunate in securing. Marshall, who is 6ft 2£in tali and weighs 17 stone, is a wrestler of the aggressive type who endeavours to use his weight and strength to wear hie opponent down and who provides endless thrills for the spectators in the process. He is a master of scissors holds, and when ho is able to lift his opponent for a dump it. generally moans the end of tho bout. In Little Wolf, however, Marshall will find himself pitted against all the cunning of the Indian race, as well as against strength, stamina, and amazing speed. Little Wolf is certainly one of the fastest wrestlers ever seen in New Zealand and the many unorthodox manoeuvres which he is liable to bring into play at any moment make lnm an opponent to be watched carefully the whole time. Ho claims that it is impossible for his Indian deathlock to be broken, and also for that hold to be used against him. Since he was responsible for the introduction of the hold to wrestling, ho is probably right. The box plans for this match open at Collinson and Cumiingbame’s on .Monday morning.
