OFFENCE WHEN DRUNK.

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 8. After being on a drinking bout, William George Boyd, a farm- labourer, fired his .22 rifle several times at W'addingtou in the early hours of yesterday morning, one shot penetrating the wall of a house near some sleeping children. Yesterday afternoon Boyd appeared in Court and was fined 20s and costs by Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M., for having a rifle and ammunition in his possession while drunk.
