NOTES.
Sucressful at the euchre tables on Saturday when the Foresters’ Lodge members conducted a euchre and dance party were Mesdames Hooper 1, Wilson and King 2, and Messrs B. Allerby 1 and Worsfold and Simpson 2. The M.C. for the dance portion of the programme was Mr W. Towler. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Foote and Mr Dewar. The Railway Department’s excursion trips to Napier and Wellington were well patronised by Feilding residents on Sunday; 72 tickets were sold here for the Napier trip and 50 for the Wellington journey. The annua! meeting of the Feilding Municipal Band is to be held in the Council Chambers on Thursday evening next. In view of the possibility of the 1938 contest being held in Palmerston
North, a splendid opportunity will bo given the local band to compete under favourable circumstances and the forthcoming year can, with advantage, be used for preparatory purposes both financially and from a playing point of view. It is, therefore, more than usually necessary that a strong ciVnnitteo be appointed and a full attendance of members and supporters is urged for Thursday night.
