CORONATION CONTINGENT.
PROBABLE LEADERS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 28. Although no official announcement has yet been made, it is understood that Major N. W. McD. Weir, staff officer in charge of military training and staff duty at general headquarters, AVellington, will lead the New Zealand contingent for the Coronation in London, and the second in command will be Captain L. W. Andrew, V.C., adjutant to the AVellington Regiment. Two other members of the permanent staff will be chosen, one of whom will bo a sergeant-major. Both, of these appointments will, it is understood, he idled from the North Island. MINISTER’S COMMENT. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 28. Hon. F. Jones (Minister of Defence), commenting on the Christchurch message concerning the Coronation contingent leaders, said no appointments had been made as he had not yet received the recommendations from the permanent staff. The selection of leaders could not be made till he had received and considered these recommendations.
