FEILDING STOCK SALE.
GREAT NUMBER OF SHEEP. SPLENDID QUALITY BULLOCKS. Accommodation at the Feilding saleyards was taxed to the utmost this morning for the weekly stock sale. Between 28,000 to 30,000 sheep were penned and a third of that number were store lambs, while, the remainder were made up of breeding ewes. The breeding ewes were in most instances of good quality, while the younger sheep were of excellent quality. The fat sheep pens were fairly well filled, but again a shortage of fat ewes was apparent. This huge yarding was handled by the staff in a most creditable manner, there being no bitch from start to finish. The able manner in which accommodation was arranged reflects much credit on the supervisor (Mr Southey Fowler), In the cattle department there were exceptional yardings of fat dairy cattle of good quality, and a fair yarding of station cattle, including a.n outstanding line of Hereford and Polled Angus bullocks. The store cattle section included a good yarding of boner and store cows, while the dairy section contained a few pens of dairy cows and weaner heifers. Prices up to 1 p.m. were:— Store sheep.—Ewe lambs, 15s, 23s 7d, 25s lid; on account Massey College, 32s 6d • wether lambs, 11s Bd, 14s 3d, 14s Bd,’ 14s lOd, 16s, 17s Id, 17s 7d, 17s od, 17s lOd, 19s 4d, 20s 7d, 21s 7d, 22s 7d’ 22s 9d; shorn ditto, 16s 9d; shorn b.f., 17s, 18s 2d; w.f., 16s 6d, 17s 9d.
