Many of the early potato crops in this district are badly blighted, owing no doubt to tho extremely wet season. It is noticeable, however, that potutoes which were put in late are doing remarkably well, and so far show no signs of blight. A resident living beyond the township stated,' that their potato plants had rotted at the point where the haulm enters the ground, and thus the tops find withered away, the immature tubers naturally being of little use.
