AUSTRALIAN BOXER.
BOUT WITH McMAHON. RETURN MATCH MOOTED. The circumstances associated with the disqualification of the Australian boxer Bill Pluto, after he had struck the referee during the progress of the professional contest with Jack McMahon at Palmerston North, on Wednesday. evening, are to be considered at a special meeting of the Manawatu Boxing Association on Monday. The action to be taken by the New Zealand Boxing Council regarding Pluto’s license will depend largely upon the recommendations made by the Manawatu Boxing Association. It is understood that neither the referee nor the majority of the members of the association will press for a drastic penalty, such as the withdrawal of Pluto’s license, and that they favour paying over to Pluto his share of the the matter is adjusted satisfactorily, it is learned that there is every likelihood of Pluto and McMahon being matched m a return bout. McMahon informed the , ptandard” representative, immediately after Wednesday’s match, that he would be willing to meet Pluto again.
