PACIFIC NATIONS.

DOMINION’S DUTY,

Per Press Association

AVELLINGTON, Oct. 4

“I think New Zealand and Australia have a very particular part to play in the Pacific situation,” said Rev. H. W. Newell, who lias returned from the Institute of Pacific Relations Conference at Yoscmite, California. “There is no doubt,” he said, “that we have orderliness and security which give us a tremendous* advantage over every other nation in the Pacific. It is up to Australians and New Zealanders to use their comparative security and quietness of thinking more and seeking to show themselves the friends of those nations which are struggling up out of the -whirlpool of confusion and uncertainty.”
