A further practice shoot was held on the Ashhurst rifle range on Saturday, there being several good scores registered. J. Searle made a splendid possible at the 300yds and a 33 at the 500yds to top the day’s shoot. S. J. Brookio, with 33 at 500yds, had also a good effort. Detailed scores we re as follow: —J. Searle, 35—33 — 68; M. Hausmann, 32 —32 —64; C. Turner, 31 —32 —63; R. A. Jones, 32 —31—63; S. J. Brookie. 29 —33 —62; R. W. H. Ramsay, 32 —30—62; J. Griffths, 31—29—60; N. Hopcroft, 31 —29 —60 ; C. Romley, 29 — 30 —59 : H. Barlow, 29—30 —59; If. Russell, 28—30—58; S. Horn, 26—31—57; H. Ramsay, 29—26—55: L. liarrowfield, 25 28 —53; R. Doreen, 22—28—50: M. Doreen, 17—16—33. A team of tho Ashhurst members journeyed to Aokautere last week to try conclusions with tho Aokautere club. Aokautere won by a good margin. Ashhurst were successful in the combined long range and miniuture match the totals being: Ashhurst,_ 785; Aokautere. 764. Great interest is being displayed this yoar in the coming competition of teams for the Greer Shield, which is competed for by all clubs in tho Manawatu-Pohan-gina district. The improvement in the class of ammunition issued has done a great deal to revive interest in rifle shooting circles. The executive of the ManawntuPohangina Rifle Association have arrange, ments well in hand for the Labour Day shoot. The friends of Mrs J.
